Blessed time as we met with PIEI Romania Missionaries

Be blessed, everyone!

Once again, we are together.

When I say this, I mean that the PIEI missionaries from Romania have gathered once more, for a few days, to enjoy fellowship, to discuss the ministry, and to share both the joys and the challenges that come with the service to which we have been called.

Beyond all this, a major focus and special attention were dedicated to a time of training and preparation, in view of “equipping the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ.”

Placing this within the broader framework of Discipleship, each of us was led again to analyze and practice the principles of discipleship — more specifically, to reflect upon and understand the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 28:19–20, known today as The Great Commission.

We understand that these words were first spoken to the apostles, yet through them, also to us. Otherwise, if they were meant only for the apostles, the work of making disciples, baptizing, and teaching would have ended with their passing into eternity.

Not only did we study this manual together, but we also learned the method of working in small groups — groups that gather not merely to complete another course, but to build healthy relationships, grow in spiritual maturity, and form trustworthy people who will, in turn, be able to teach others.

Together with Pastor Gigi Dobrin, in a pleasant atmosphere, we reflected on how we can go back home and apply what we have learned.

Through discussions, questions and answers, and many practical examples, we were able to go through the material thoroughly and use our time wisely.

This time, we chose to hold the event both at the PIEI Christian Center in Alba Iulia — the central location of the Association and one of its key projects in the mission to reach Romania for Christ — and at the Retreat House and Camp in Necrilești.

Like the Christian Center, this camp has also been dedicated to the same mission — the Reaching Romania Project.

We are thrilled that God has blessed us, as an organization, with these two tools, and we want to use them not just occasionally, but continually, so they may always serve the purpose for which they were dedicated — for God’s glory and the salvation and blessing of our fellow people.

We are praying for wisdom in administration, efficiency, and financial support, so that both places may be maintained at a high standard — as unto the Lord, not unto men.

We pray especially for human resources, which are so greatly needed in the field of the Gospel — men and women, young and old, whose gifts can be a blessing in fulfilling this mission, both in Alba Iulia and in Necrilești.

You, the one reading these words, could be one of them!

Not because I say so, but because the Lord is still waiting for those whom He has forgiven and reconciled to Himself through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, to ask:

“Lord, what do You want me to do?”

We, the PIEI missionaries in Romania, as those who have dedicated these places to God, believe that — among many other purposes — He also has this one in mind.

We invite and encourage you to support in prayer the work of PIEI Romania, and the work of others as well.

Intercede before God, together with the only Mediator between God and man, the Man Jesus Christ, so that the desire and will to become faithful followers of Him may be rekindled in the hearts of brothers and sisters everywhere.

Pray for the opportunity to join us, even for a short period, here in Romania — to take part in the mission of making disciples and fulfilling the Great Commission.

Thank you for taking the time to read these words, to think about them, to pray, and — if possible — to choose to become a fellow worker with us.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, your homes, and the churches you belong to.
