Spain

Located in the southwest corner of Europe, Spain has a population of about 47,000,000. Spain has a long and varied history and rich ancient traditions. Although Spain had a thriving economy for many years, the recent downturn has greatly affected this country with more than 25% unemployment. Over the last forty years it has experienced a rapid secularization with a general disinterest in traditional Christian roots. The evangelical church in Spain is about 1% of the population

The southern part of Spain, called Andalucía, is famous for olive groves, vineyards, and tourism. The sun shines nearly every day in all the provinces along the Costa del Sol (Sun Coast).

Partners in Evangelism is focused on planting a church in the city of Malaga where there is a population of 750,000. Pablo and Rosa Gallego live in the north central part of Malaga where there are 200,000 Spaniards and no Evangelical witness to them. Pablo and Rosa have been called to pioneer church work in this very needy area, and have a passion to share the gospel of Christ and proclaim the truth of God’s Word.

Pablo and Rosa met while serving the Lord in different ministries in Malaga in 2001. They were married in 2003 and have two children, Yoel (born 2006) and Lidia (born 2008). Both received Biblical training in Madrid (Sefovan/Pablo) and Barcelona (IBSTE/Rosa).

The focus of their ministry is young families with the desire to promote activities that will bring these families together in order to share with them the good news of Jesus Christ and to disciple them to know and serve our Lord.

The Gallegos are partnering with the Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica Victoria (Victory Evangelical Christian Church) of the province of Malaga which desires to have the gospel proclaimed, and new churches begun in the province of Malaga and beyond.

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’
— Romans 10: 13-15
