Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
We are happy to bring you some news about our lives and the work to which the Lord has called us in the Mihalt mission circle. By the grace of God, we strive to be a worthy example for those we serve every day. Teodora is in her winter exam session. She still goes to Cluj-Napoca, but not as often as when she was in college.
As for spiritual work, we strive to be close, first and foremost, to our brothers and sisters in faith who need our help. In particular, at the moment, we are trying to be close to Sister Neli, who was widowed with four children at the end of last year. As a church, I am referring now to the church in Craciunelu de Jos, we have decided to get involved financially to help Sister Neli move into the new house they have started building, as soon as possible. She and her children are currently living with her mother-in-law in another town and it is quite difficult for her.
During the last month, the health of the oldest sister in our church there, Marie, deteriorated and she ended up passing away shortly before her 96th birthday. She was the only believer in her family. Over the past 10 years, I visited her at least once a month, trying to be a witness to her family and an encouragement to her. We rejoice to know that she is with the Lord now and pray that her prayers for the salvation of her family will be answered.
We try to make time to be close to those who do not yet have a personal relationship with God. Our desire is to help as many souls as possible to reach the Kingdom of our Father. Certain aspects of our work can be shared publicly. Others must remain confidential in order to protect the people we work with.
I would like to share with you a mission experience that strengthened my faith and, I hope, will strengthen yours as well. More than 20 years ago, I met a woman for whom we prayed and wanted to show her the love of Jesus Christ. Being in a fairly high social position and having problems with subordinates who challenged her authority, she was thinking of responding in the same manner. I was then prompted by God to tell her only this: "Overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21. Years passed and we rarely saw each other. But on one occasion when we met, she said to me with a smile, "I haven't forgotten your advice „Overcome evil with good.” Not long ago, she called me because she really wanted to talk to me. She told me she was about to undergo a difficult operation and wanted me to pray for her. So I did and I pray that God will grant her complete healing in the name of Jesus, but especially, I pray that the Lord will save her soul.
Prayer requests:
1. For the woman that I’ve mentioned (the Lord knows her real name), for her salvation and physical healing.
2. That we may be effective and impactful in evangelism and discipleship.
3. For our family: spiritual and physical health.
In Him,
Daniel C. Petruț - PIEI Romania Missionary
