By the grace of God, during the last few weeks, we have participated in and rejoiced over several events through which we believe that God was glorified. As brothers in Christ, we are called to be an encouragement to one another and to support each other through prayer. This is why I was very glad about the event organized at the PIEI Center in Alba Iulia and at the Necrileşti camp, where I had fellowship with the other missionary brothers. It was a time of mentoring led by brother Gigi Dobrin, pastor of a church in Mediaş. The theme of our meeting was “Discipleship, making disciples and what it means to have a life anchored in Christ” and it strengthened my conviction that an effective servant in the work of the Lord must focus on evangelism, discipleship and multiplication. In this way, we can be effective and fruitful for the glory of God and for the salvation of many souls around us.
I was also glad to serve the Lord at a youth meeting, where I had the opportunity to speak to a group of about 25 young people about the importance of a pure and holy life together with total dedication to the service of God. The key verse for this message was John 17:17. I was encouraged to see the young people’s interest in the subject and I believe that God was glorified through this work. I also had the joy of speaking about this topic, dedication and sanctification (to be set apart) at the blessing of a newborn baby girl to which I was invited. The sermon text was Joshua 24:14-15, emphasizing the importance of the parents’ role in encouraging their children to live a holy life.
By the Lord’s grace, we continue to go through the lessons from the first chapter of the Digital Bible Institute. There are four chapters: Prayer, Evangelism, Discipleship and Revival. We are currently on lesson 5 of the chapter on Prayer. The greatest challenge I see among the students involved in this study is finding the necessary time to go through the lessons and complete assignments. However, I am encouraged by the feedback I’ve received from students who are excited to be part of this spiritual training program.
Even though I couldn’t be there physically, I was with you in spirit and rejoiced to see the testimony of God’s faithfulness that He has shown to each of us and to so many others throughout all the 40 years of the PIEI mission. The Lord is so good!
Prayer request:
~For the ministry in which I and the other missionary brothers and involved;
~For the group of young people that seemed so eager to find out more about the Lord;
~For the little newborn girl, for her to grow up surrounded by God’s blessing and be a testimony of God’s grace to all that she will meet;
~For the students studying at the DBI;
God bless you all!
In Him,
Daniel C. Petruţ - PIEI Romania Missionary
