Our beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord,
We are thankful to the Lord for the way He is using us for His glory. We are also grateful to Him for the spiritual and financial support we receive through our beloved from Midwest Bible Church. We are encouraged to know that we are fellow workers with God, for the glory of our heavenly Father. Likewise, we are grateful for all of our beloved brothers and sisters everywhere who support us in this great work. Be blessed and may the Lord reward you according to His great mercy!
As September began, the major event was the start of the new school year. I am once again among the children and I thank the Lord for the grace He has given me. Since I continue to drive them to and from school every day, the children are constantly able to listen to Christian music on the school bus. I pray that the Lord will keep using even this way of interacting with the children to draw them closer and closer to Him. In the past, I’ve seen how this sparked their curiosity and encouraged them to ask questions about the Lord.
Teodora is settling into her new job, working with children with severe disabilities aged 18-23. This is what she desired, to come to the aid of these children with special needs. We don’t know the extent of their understading, but I know that God can reach anyone and make Himself known to all. Once a week she is able to bring her ukulele, gather the children from 2 classes and sing with them. In addition to the typical children’s songs, she also sang a couple of songs inspired by Scripture.
With the Lord’s help, we have formed a group of students (disciples) whom we want to help grow for the glory of the Lord. We named the group Burning Torches Romania. In romanian, the initials of this group are FAR, which means “beacon of light”, a ray piercing through the darkness. The group currently has 16 students, 16 disciples. Radu, one of the students who joined the group, is a 16 years old teenager. When I asked him if he would be willing to participate in the lessons from the Bible institute, he told me that he was interested and would like to go through them even if it turned out that he would be the only disciple I was working with. Similarly, a family who lives in Germany, and with whom we are relatives, said that they are interested in participating as well, even if no one else joins the study group. They are exemples that have encouraged me, showing me that there are still people who are willing to seek the Lord with all their heart, even if it means doing it on their own, not just following a crowd.
Prayer requests:
For Teodora – for protection and wisdom in working with the children;
For the ministry with the children in the local community;
For the disciples with whom we have started the digital Bible institute.
In Him,
Daniel C. Petruț - PIEI Romania Missionary
