God has blessed us in many different ways over the past month, and I believe that through all these circumstances, He has revealed His glory. May His name be blessed forever!
By His grace, we had a New Testament baptismal service in which Sister Stela shared her testimony before the church, declaring that the Lord had saved her soul and that she is now His child.
There is great joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, but there was also great joy in the church—even to the point of tears—because Sister Stela finally found the courage to make the decision to follow the Lord.
I say “finally” because, ten years ago, she attended our church and already knew that she needed to receive Christ as Lord of her life. After that, however, she went through a period of turning away from the church and experienced many trials and sufferings. For several years, she was separated from her husband for various reasons. Then she lost her job and also went through a period of illness.
After all these things, she turned to God once again and returned to the fellowship of the church. It was a great joy for her to see that the church welcomed her with open arms and prayed for her and for the situation she was going through.
Many of her relatives were present at her baptism. Her older sister was especially joyful and wept tears of happiness because, from that moment on, there were now two sisters of faith in their extended family.
We pray that God will continue to work in the hearts of all those who heard the Gospel on that special occasion.
Only one week after this great joy, the Lord called Sister Maria home. She had been among those who wept tears of joy at the baptism.
Sister Maria was only 52 years old, and she suddenly departed from this life. On Sunday, she worshiped together with the church, and on Monday morning she suffered cardiac arrest and went home to be with the Lord.
Both the family and the church wept with deep sorrow.
The evenings of the wake and the funeral service were wonderful opportunities to proclaim the Gospel. Many people came to listen, and we pray that the Lord will work in their hearts, especially in the hearts of her family members, and that they will turn to Him.
God has different ways of speaking to people and of touching our hearts. He searches and examines each one of us.
We bow before Him and worship Him, giving Him all the glory with all our hearts.
