Be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.
Scripture tells us that “the greater blesses the lesser.” In our faith and conviction, we are certain that the greatness of God cannot be fully described or comprehended — and that is precisely why we turn to Him as the SOURCE of every grace, every good thing, and every help.
This is true, and we do well when we act accordingly.
We know, as we have been taught by the Holy Scriptures, that “every good and perfect gift comes from above, from the Father of lights, in whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” This truth gives us confidence to continually draw near to Him.
Our eyes are fixed on the Lord, and we wait — as we always do — for Him to intervene and to answer our prayers and petitions.
Yet, even though He hears, sees, and can do all things, our expectations are not always fulfilled.
Why?
There can be several reasons.
Faith is essential — it greatly determines whether we receive what we ask for — but it is not the only condition. Our requests must also be made according to His will; doubt should have no place; and our motives should be pure, not selfish or wasteful. When our intentions are to spend what we receive on our own pleasures, when there is carelessness, lack of gratitude, or misuse of what God entrusts to us, we move away from His purposes.
God expects us to be faithful not only in great matters but also in the small things, and especially in what belongs to another.
When we act responsibly, that is to our advantage — for then we can more confidently expect answers from Him.
During the celebration of 40 years of PIEI Ministry, besides the joy of the occasion, I had the privilege of meeting PIEI missionaries from various countries. I listened attentively to how the Lord’s work is being carried out in other parts of the world and was both encouraged and inspired to bring improvement and growth to the work here in Romania as well.
Meeting God’s servants from different nations is truly inspiring — one becomes amazed at how diverse God’s work is across the earth: in Ukraine, India, African countries such as Congo, Kenya, South Sudan, as well as in Spain, Argentina, Romania, and beyond. Everywhere, the Lord leaves His testimony — of His existence, greatness, and goodness — poured out upon both the righteous and the unrighteous.
We receive His blessings daily: life, health, protection, food, gifts and abilities, possessions, fellowship, faith, forgiveness of sins, a renewed mind, local churches, communities, and so much more. The list could go on indefinitely, for indeed, “what do we have that we did not receive?”
Since all that we have has been received from the Lord, the next question naturally arises:
What do we do with what we have received?
Do we steward and use it responsibly, or do we waste and squander it?
Understanding that all we have comes from the Lord makes us responsible — it holds us accountable. We know that one day we will give an account to Him for everything.
Therefore, taught by Scripture, led by the Spirit of the Lord, and helped by God’s people, we — the missionaries from Romania — also desire to be able to say:
“Lord, what You have entrusted to us has brought forth more.”
We thank all those who, moved by love, pray to God to help us do all things for His glory.
We are also grateful that you join us in prayer to the Father, for whom all things are possible, asking that we be strengthened and enabled to live responsibly in all things — to the glory of the Father and of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray that the witness of the Gospel would reach the ends of the earth, and that we, the PIEI missionaries from Romania, would be among those carrying it forth.
We invite you to join us in this work — both in spirit and, as the Lord enables you, in person.
May you all be richly blessed, wherever you are!
