Bringing joy

First of all, I would like to begin this report with some good news: this month, on April 28, I celebrate 54 years of marriage. Also, this year marks 11 years since my transplant. It is a miracle that I am still alive, and only the Lord Jesus knows why.

Just as the disciples prayed, “Lord, enable Your servants to speak Your word with great boldness” (Acts 4:29), this is also my prayer. As I have mentioned in previous reports, the ministry and service that the Lord Jesus has given me in the area where God has placed me bring me great joy. I am thankful that the Lord Jesus is present with me and with my co-workers in the villages where we serve, such as: the Evangelical Church in Oiești, Rotunda, Valea Uiasca, Valea Dumirești, the Tigveni orphanage, and others.

Everywhere we go, our main objective is to make the Lord Jesus known—the One who gave His life for our sins and who lives forevermore. In order for people to spend eternity with Him, they must receive Him into Their hearts as Savior and Lord. This is our primary goal, and the second is making disciples.

We are aware that the time will come when we will depart, as the great Apostle Paul said in Philippians, and the time will come to pass on the baton.

Every evening we pray for the PIEI Committee in Romania and in the United States, for all those whom God puts on their hearts to stand together with Him and with us in advancing the Gospel. We pray that the Lord Jesus will reward you in His grace for all the effort you make.

I am thinking of Brother Cornel and Gabi Ștef, Alex and Rodica Popa, Brother Dragomir, and from the Romanian committee, Brother Timotei, with whom we meet every Monday evening to pray for the needs of the missionaries, as well as for those in the United States who are laboring on our behalf. May the Lord Jesus reward all your efforts.

We also lift up in prayer the family of Brother Matei and Sister Naomi. We do not forget those who have helped us in the past but are no longer able to do so—may the Lord Jesus take care of all their needs. I am thinking of Ed and Didy.

 By the grace of God,

Traian Chilău, PIEI missionary

I will close with a verse that brings me great comfort:

2 Corinthians 4:7 — “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
