Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,

 With the arrival of autumn, we are once again beginning to think more intentionally about how we can become more effectively involved in ministry among children and teenagers and bring fruit to God’s glory. Soon, we will resume our Bible study. Before the summer holiday, we completed the first part, called  PRAYER. The second part we will be studying is called  EVANGELISM

Another project we are preparing is the Thanksgiving Celebration, which will take place on October 18th at the church in Mihalț. From previous years, we have seen that at this event, people from the community are more receptive to our invitation to join us in worship. Afterwards, we will have a time of fellowship, serve pies and cake and where everyone present will have the opportunity to share the fruits and vegetables that God has blessed them with, with each other. We chose this date because it is close to the 93rd birthday of the oldest sister in our church, therefore we would also like to take this opportunity to celebrate her and thank God for her life, as it is a testimony of God’s faithfulness to those who remain close to Him.

We continue to pray for our brothers and sisters who are ill. We are trying to stay close to them and to those who care for them, encouraging them and praying for them. A few days ago, I visited a dear brother who had been allowed to spend only one day at home between two hospital stays. He has been diagnosed with a tumor in his right kidney.

Also, among the children I transport every day, I strive to be a positive example. I made time to talk with a more rebellious teenager, whom another boy in the minibus had called “a piece of garbage.” When I asked him if he believed that he was garbage, he looked at me with an expression in which I could see his pain and self-doubt. I assured him that our value does not come from what others say about us, but from God, who created us in His image. I believe this conversation helped him and I pray for this boy, that he may turn to God with all his heart. His name is Romeo.

Prayer Requests:

  1. For those who are involved in the Bible study;

  2. For the preparation of the Thanksgiving Celebration and for people to have the desire to attend;

  3. For our brothers and sisters who are ill: Maria, Elena, Feri, Mihai, Gheorghe and Samuel;

  4. For Romeo.

 In Him,

Daniel C. Petrut - PIEI Romania Missionary
