It was truly a miracle from God that we were able to find a place at the “Carl Wolff” nursing home in Sibiu.
Brother Thomas from Hașag, who was diagnosed with cancer, was hospitalized for surgery and treatment through cancer-fighting infusions. Everything went very well, and he is now in good condition.
We see in this the hand of the Lord upon him, as well as a great opportunity to make the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ known. Every day in the hospital became a time when the brother shared the Word of God—both with his roommates and with the nurses and doctors—placing before them the decision of where they would spend eternity: with Christ in heaven or in eternal torment in hell.
Throughout this time, we prayed that the Lord would prepare a place for him in a nursing home, as the brother is alone, without family here in Romania. His family is in Germany, but they have shown no interest in him. Ever since he returned to the Lord, he has been despised and disregarded, even by those of his own household.
We have been grateful to be close to him during these last years of his life. He is 88 years old, and two years ago he returned from Germany.
Together we prayed that the Lord would prepare a place where he could have peace and proper care—and the Lord worked in an unexpected way. All the nursing homes were full, with people already placed on waiting lists. Here it was the same, but they had one room available for someone who could move about independently and was not constantly dependent on others.
When he was admitted and found himself alone in the room, he confessed to me:
“Brother, I never even thought to ask God for something like this. I have no words to thank Him. It is such a great blessing!”
God is faithful and never abandons His own. To Him be the glory!
May He be blessed forever!
