Beloved brothers and sisters,
I’ve got so much joy sharing this information with you all: this coming month pastor John Dura and his family along with our family, as initiators, and a small group of young families, are going to start a new ministry, which we belive is part of God’s plan for Alba Iulia, the city we live in. We met a couple of times once at PIEI Center for a night of writting down thoughts and ideas and than we rented a place where we’ve shared publicly our vision.
So we have started talking about:
- The Context of the Great Commission – The Mission of the Church
Mark 16:15 – He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Matthew 28:19–20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Vision – A clear picture of a desirable future
How do we specifically fulfill the mission of the Church?
A vision often begins with a deeply felt need.
• An urgent need to reach the younger generation with the Gospel.
• A generation that feels alienated, struggling with major relational issues.
• The spread of pornography, drugs, and the influence of social media.
• Broken families unable to provide the necessary care for their children.
• Dangerous social policies looming on the horizon.
• A traditional church unable to connect with or absorb the younger generation.
• Outdated leadership models (marked by communism) that are no longer effective.
- The Solution
A church that is:
• Able to evangelize young people in practical and loving ways.
• Able to equip families to raise their children in faith.
• Able to reveal the Kingdom of God to the world (to the city).
• Led by leadership that empowers every believer to be a witness for Christ.
• A place where our children are loved and wisely guided into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A body where every member is taught, cared for, and built up to become a mature and active part of the Body of Christ.
To accomplish this, we will:
• Preach the Word of God under the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
• Pray fervently and exercise the authority given by Christ to extend God’s Kingdom by making more and more disciples.
• Create, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, opportunities for ministry to achieve this goal.
• Support ministries and initiate partnerships with churches and organizations that share our vision.
Step outside the walls of the church with concrete actions to transform the city for God.
• Carefully follow the Lord’s guidance in everything we do.
- The Time Is NOW
• We have learned from the mistakes of the past.
• There is a fresh stirring toward faith among young people and within society.
• Generation Z needs us NOW. Tomorrow they will be adults, and we will have them just as we raise them today.
• We have a young, energetic team ready to begin the work.
I am going to share with you about the vision and how we plan to implement it, and I will kindly ask you to pray as we still looking for a name.
Prayer request:
- We are looking for a place to rent for the following 6 to 12 months
- Since we are at the beginning of a new road, we need resources.
- We are looking for people to come share, encourage and work along side us
Thank you for being part of this.
Mike Dima – PIEI Romania Secretary
