Dear brothers and sisters from the United States, our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine, we greet you with the love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
By God's mercy and grace, we have been able to proclaim the Word of God this month, even though war is still raging in Ukraine and there is still unrest everywhere. But the Lord is always our protection and refuge. Glory to Him for all He does for us. I am very grateful to God for helping me preach the Word to people who do not know God throughout this month.
1. Praise God for favorable times and peace in our region. Therefore, our churches held prayers of thanksgiving for the God-blessed harvest this year. We gave thanks for bread, clean water, and the Word of God, which has touched many hearts this year through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our church also had a blessed program of praise at the end of September. Everyone thanked God for a good harvest through prayers, hymns, and beautiful poems. The youth lovingly decorated a beautiful pyramid with the fruits of our Lord's blessing, glory to God.
- Also, one brother was baptized. Praise God. He has been attending our congregation for a long time, and we prayed for him. When asked if he would agree to make a covenant with our Lord Jesus Christ, he replied that it was long overdue. We pray that the Lord blesses him and strengthens him in the faith.
2. We held the Lord's Supper at the church in the village of Nesvoi, and at the same time, we prepared to go to those brothers and sisters who were unable to come to church.
3. Evangelism at a Nursing Home
- I held a mini-evangelism outreach at a nursing home for the elderly in the neighboring village of Stalnivtsi. Three women attended this outreach and listened to the Word of God. They received the Word with love. A sister from our church was there and she wanted to participate in the Lord's Supper. My wife, Larisa, and I helped these needy people with money so they could maintain their hygiene and cleanliness.
4. Gratitude for an Answered Prayer
- We visited Brother Vasiliy Preutesa, our missionary, and together with his family, we thanked God for an answered prayer. For helping him through such difficulties. Now he is preparing to return to the Church for service, may the Lord help him.
- Over the past two weeks, I helped my wife, Larisa, walk during medical procedures. Her right knee had been very painful. I drove her to this clinic every day for her treatments, and now, thank God, she's a little better. We pray that the Lord grants Larisa a complete healing.
We also pray for missionary Vasily Preutes, that the Lord grant him a complete recovery.
5. Ministry at the Bible Institute
-I finished studying the first part of the Book of Isaiah with the students.
Now I'm preparing to study and teach the second part of the Book of Isaiah. I pray to God that He will help me in this study of God's Word as well.
6. Thanksgiving
-I thank God for protecting our area from enemy missiles this month.
-We thank God for you, brothers and sisters from the USA, for your support and help, and for your prayers for us.
-We thank God for helping us visit and evangelize at the Nursing Home. We are grateful to God for helping our brother, missionary Vasily Preutes, and for his return to ministry.
7. Prayer requests:
-Pray for peace in Ukraine, for this senseless war to end.
-Pray that the Lord will continue to protect us from all evil.
Pray for my health and the health of my wife, Larisa, so that we can continue to labor in God's field.
-We are praying for the soldiers from our regions. Right now, one of them is surrounded. His name is Roman. We pray for him to be well and to be able to escape this encirclement. His mother was a believer, and he attended our congregation as a child. Now his mother has died, and his father is an unbeliever. We pray for Roman and for all our young men from the village who are defending the country.
We are also praying for you, brothers and sisters from the USA, our partners in the evangelism here in Ukraine. We love you and always pray for you, that the Lord blesses you abundantly.
With love to you, the Petikhachny family, Pavel & Larisa.
