“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Greek. For in the Gospel a righteousness from God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’” (Romans 1:16–17)
Every week I visit several families of unbelievers from the villages of Ponorel, Sohodol, and Brazasti (as well as orphans and their caregivers in Abrud), and I lovingly share with them the Gospel of salvation through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus. Each person, each family, has different particularities and a different level of understanding of God’s wonderful Word.
Among the unbelievers, some receive the Gospel with joy and have many questions to ask—such as the Sandici family and the Cioara family (photos: Ponorel A and Sohodol B). With others, much patience and understanding are needed, because they have many ties to the state church, which strongly opposes us who are born again.
Some of my Orthodox friends do not agree with all the forms and rituals in the Orthodox Church and even condemn them, but taking the step toward the Lord Jesus is very difficult—there is a strong spiritual battle.
