Greetings from Bazna! We are thankful to the Lord for His faithfulness and for the opportunity to continue serving Him and the community through Maranata Baptist Church. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and partnership. Your support through PIE continues to make a real difference in the lives of children, families, and our church community.
Church Ministry
During the first week of September, I underwent septoplasty surgery. The operation went well, but the recovery was more demanding than expected, requiring about two weeks of rest and only light activities. During the two Sundays when I was recovering, we were thankful to have visiting ministers from Cisnădie and Mediaș serve with us and help with the church services.
In September, we also restarted our After-School program, with 20 children enrolled. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve these children not only through educational support, but also by building relationships with their families and showing practical care.
September Highlight – Equipped Backpacks
By the grace of God and with the help of PIE, we were able to provide 21 fully equipped school backpacks to the children participating in our After-School program. In addition, we were able to give 4 backpacks to children at the kindergarten where my wife, Diana, works.
This became a beautiful testimony of the church in our community. Through something very practical, we were able to show that we care about the children and their families and that we want to be present and ready to help wherever we can. For us, this was the highlight of the month and a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate Christ's love in a practical way.
Projects Beginning in October
Beginning in the first week of October, we plan to start two new activities for children and young people: an English Club and free guitar lessons. We already have children from the After-School program registered, and we will also put up several posters around the village so that other children and young people can join.
The purpose of these activities is to provide a safe and positive environment where children and teenagers can develop useful skills, discover new interests, build healthy relationships, and receive encouragement from caring adults. We also hope these activities will create new opportunities for the church to connect with families in the community and serve them in practical ways.
On October 4, our church will visit Betel Church in Mediaș, where we will have the opportunity to present the ministry taking place in Bazna. On October 11, we will celebrate our Harvest Thanksgiving service.
Next month, we will also meet with a team of pastors from Ukraine who will be coming to Necrilesti. On October 17, Diana and several ladies from our church will participate in the women's meeting at the PIE center in Alba Iulia.
On Saturday, September 26, I participated in the Sibiu Community pastors' meeting together with fellow ministers from Mediaș. We had a challenging and encouraging teaching session on church revitalization, which gave us much to think about as we continue serving our local church.
Family Update
As a family, we are thankful to the Lord for His provision and care. Ionatan Junior returned home after working during the summer. We are grateful that he was able to secure a place again in the student dormitory for his second year of studies. His university courses begin on October 1.
Iosua and Matei are still adjusting to their new school schedule and the daily commute between Bazna and Mediaș. It has been challenging for them to wake up at 5:00 a.m. and return home around 3:00 p.m., but we are thankful for God's help as they adjust to this new routine.
Thank You
Thank you once again for standing with us through prayer, encouragement, and practical support. We are grateful that through this partnership we can serve the people of Bazna and share God's love in tangible ways. Please continue to pray for the After-School program, the new English Club and guitar lessons, our church ministries, and for wisdom as we seek to serve our community faithfully.
With gratitude and warm greetings from Bazna,
Ionatan & Diana Moldovan - PIEI Romania Missionaries
