Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pignon is busy planting sister churches and Christian schools. Most of the leadership are young adults. The pastor of the church and director of PIEI ministry in Haiti is Jephthe Lucien. He seeks training for his pastors and plans to develop businesses through which they and other church members can support their families without being forced to flee to the big city.
Jephthe’s father, Rev. Sidoine Lucien, established Jerusalem Baptist Church in 1977. Earthquake in Haiti / Updates from Pastor Jephthe
The destruction of the massive earthquake on January 12, 2010 near Port-au-Prince
Haiti has created a great need for help in aiding the victims. Please pray for the needy people there.
PIEI is accepting donations for the relief efforts in Haiti.
Please make out your check to PIEI and mark your contribution
"Haiti Earthquake Relief".
You can either mail a check or donate online (electronic check is preferred over credit card).
PIEI is sending the relief donations for Haiti to pastor Jephthe Lucien, to help him with the disaster relief efforts. The PIEI-Haiti Volunteer Partnership Committee will be planning how to best serve pastor Jephthe, not only for his immediate needs, but also for the long-term.

Update from Mtiou Lucien sent on January 26, 2010:
Since the earthquake, Jephthe have made 9 trips to Port-au-Prince (not including
trips that the drivers have made without Jephthe). Although he has been trying
very hard not to go to P-a-p himself to focus on other ministry responsibilities
this is a very hard task. Last night, he looked so tired, so I had to ask him
not to go on Tuesday has planned. Even Dodo (Dominique is Jephthe’s oldest son)
saw that his dad was tired and asked him not to leave today. Since Jephthe
did not go to P-a-P this morning, as a family we spent sometime in prayer.
