About Our Ministry
A BRIEF HISTORY OF INDEPENDENT GOSPEL BAPTIST CHURCHES AND THE ASSOCIATED MISSIONS- Rev. Shaju T. Simon, National Director
Our began in 1972 under the leadership of Rev. T.S. Sachai, Rev. T.S. Simon, Rev. K.J. Thomas, Rev. K.V. John and other faithful servants of Christ as a church planting ministry. Under the leadership of these men thousands of people heard the gospel and received Christ. After the death of Rev. Sachai, Rev. Simon served as the president until his death in 2003. Maintaining the church planting focus, the ministry was also expanded into para-church ministries such as the Bible College, Day School and the Gospel Team. Presently we are planting churches in five states within India. Rev. T. Sackson Simon serves as the President and Rev. Shaju T. Simon serves as the National Director. However there are numerous other men serving as Directors, pastors, evangelists and support persons.
CHURCH PLANTING- Rev. K.J. Thomas, Vice President
Presently we are involved in church planting in 5 states of India. There are 19 churches in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Gospel Team will be going to many new villages with the desire to plant more churches
KERALA BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE & SEMINARY- Rev. T. Sackson Simon, President
KBBC, founded in 1990, exists to train men and women to become Biblical based servants of the King. Students arrive from all states in India to receive Theological training for future ministries in pastoral and missionary work. 10 teachers are proving the training for their future ministry. www.kbbcindia.com
MERCY CHILDREN’S CHRISTIAN HOME- Pastor Joy Lukose, Director
MCCH is an outreach ministry to families and their children in Kerala State. Currently living at the home are 24 children ranging in ages from 5 to 16. We provide housing, education, and practical living skills for children who would otherwise not receive any. Please pray that these children will grow to know the Lord personally while under our care. Pray for our staff as they provide a loving home environment for our children.
BETHANY ENGLISH CHRISTIAN MEDIUM SCHOOL-Mrs. Annie Juliet Shaju, Administrator
Bethany is a self supported 34 year old ministry offering education to children grades Kindergarten through seventh grade. Pupils are comprised of children from surrounding villages seeking an education with Christian and English focus. Please pray for Principal Annamma Simon as she oversees this ministry. Pray that the seeds of Truth planted in the hearts of these children would fall on good ground and might produce fruit one day.
ORISSA MERCY MISSION- Pastor Joy Thomas, Director
This ministry is comprised of 10 pastors/church planters. The goal of these men is to see Biblical Baptist Churches started among the Oria people. Within the last 10 years, the Lord has blessed the Orissa ministry with 20 sound, growing churches. Due to the persecution that began in 2008 most of the believers from these churches fled to other places. Presently regular worship is only taking place in one village. The Pastors and Evangelists who fled to other areas are starting ministry where God has placed them.
ANDRHA PRADESH BAPTIST MISSIONS- Rev. Sake Mathew, Director
Within the last few years an organizational alliance was established between the Kerala churches and some Andhra Pradesh churches, in hopes of offering pastoral care, training and financial needs. Plans are to evangelise more villages and plant more churches. Pray for the 24 evangelists/church planters ministering in AP along with our mission.
GOSPEL TEAM- Evangelist Lalu V.G., Director
Five evangelists comprise this team of men who travel to potential villages where new churches are hoped to be planted. Door to door evangelism, puppet ministries, tract distribution and evening crusades are just a few means by which they minister to a town. Please pray for these men and their families as they sacrifice time together to see the work of the Lord furthered in open villages. Pray for continued courage and boldness as they share their faith with those who have never heard the Gospel story.
MISSION BUSINESS OFFICE- Mr. P.J. Johnson, Business Manager
Our business office is comprised of 8 men and women dedicated to seeing the ministries of the Independent Gospel Baptist Churches and Associated Missions succeed to the glory of God. They are responsible for the daily upkeep of all records related to the finances, oversight and administration of all our ministries.
